StockSpotter and Reco Engine both talk to UK dealers who buy at auction. They are not the same product.
What StockSpotter is
StockSpotter is a brokerage / dealer-to-dealer disposal product (free tier) plus a paid auction catalogue aggregator (their published price at time of writing was £49.99). The auction side covers houses such as BCA, Manheim, Aston Barclay, G3 Remarketing and City Auction Group. Scoring is saved searches. There is no Motorway or Carwow feed.
Aston Barclay, City Auction Group and G3 are those companies’ own search terms. They belong in this comparison as names StockSpotter lists — Reco is not trying to rank for them.
What Reco Engine is
Reco automatically ranks every listing on BCA, Manheim, Motorway and Carwow against your purchase history. You set hard exclusions and soft preferences in one place. Reco is not a T2T selling network. You still bid on the source platform.
That is the opposite of cloning a saved search onto each catalogue.

Who should use which
If you need a T2T noticeboard and a catalogue search across extra physical auction groups, StockSpotter may fit. If you want one shortlist that already knows what you buy — including Motorway for dealers and Carwow trade — that is Reco.
