What is Reco Engine?

Reco Engine is software for independent UK used-car dealers. It automatically ranks every live listing from BCA, Manheim, Motorway and Carwow against your purchase history, then lets you tighten that list with hard exclusions and softer preferences — in one place.

If you typed “reco engine” looking for a remanufactured petrol or diesel unit, this is a different company. Reco Engine does not rebuild engines.

What Reco Engine is

Reco sits on top of the platforms you already buy from. Each morning you get a ranked shortlist of cars that look like stock you actually take. You open the listing on BCA, Manheim, Motorway or Carwow and bid there. Reco does not run the auction, take the hammer, or collect the car.

That ranking is not a generic catalogue dump. Reco compares each listing to what you have bought before. You can then:

Exclude the never-buys (Cat S, a make you will not retail, mileage over a hard cap).
Prefer the almost-fits (this fuel, this grade, this mileage band) so they rank higher without disappearing.

You set that logic once. You do not rebuild the same saved search on four websites.

What Reco Engine is not

Not a DMS. Reco does not run your workshop, accounts, or forecourt stock file.
Not auction software. BCA and Manheim still run the sale. You still need a buyer account on each house.
